There are not many people who can say they have been happily married for 55 years, but Vaughn and Libby certainly can. They have overcome many of life’s ups and downs over the years and are now faced with the difficult prospect of dealing with Alzheimer’s disease. Libby was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and eventually Vaughn needed assistance to ensure that the love of his life would continue to be properly cared for. “I was looking for a company that could do at least two things for us. Beth and Roger had one rule… “Let dad do what he wants to do. We wanted him to be happy.” Beth’s father became confused and agitated when outside the home. When he was at home he felt much more relaxed and this also gave his family a great sense of peace-of-mind. “Dad’s caregiver was fantastic. She would read to him, sit and visit, do laundry, fix meals, you name it she did it. Dad thought she was family and we felt the same way.”

Although Beth and Roger began with the normal fears of the unknown; strangers in their home, wondering if they had made the right choice, etc., they “would do it all over again in an instant. Robert was a veteran who had served in the Air Force and retired as a Captain. Now in his eighties, he was living in Arkansas in an assisted living home, but desired to return back home to West Virginia to live on the family farm. During that time Diana and Dan's father and mother both developed a strong bond with their care giver. Dad really liked Beverly our care giver. She was incredibly hard working, dependable, and actually caring. She went above and beyond what she needed to do on numerous occasions. My mother had the confidence that my dad was in great hands and could take a little time to go to the grocery store. This gave her a much needed break.”
